A Daily Devotional This Devotional Is Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About being afraid of making mistakes, Part 1 Of 2 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. (NIV) We can all become paralyzed with fear when we make a mistake. We can become paralyzed because we are fearful of repeating the mistake. What are we to do when we are paralyzed with the fear of making mistakes? One helpful thing we can do is look at the system God put in place when all things were created. God created a system whereby we can make mistakes and keep on making them and keep on making them, essentially, until we die. Why did God make such a goofy system? Why didn't God make a system to stop us in our tracks when we make a mistake the first time? Why didn't God build a system keeping us from making any mistakes in the first place? The essential answer isGod wants us to grow and develop. If God had made humans stop everything in paralyzing fear when they make the first mistake, Adam and Eve would never have gone beyond the initial moments of The Fall. The first time we realize we make a mistake and we quit everything, then we have effectively ended any hope we have of learning, growing, and developing. If we would quit everything at the first mistake we make, we would essentially be an invalid for the rest of our life.
