Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. (NIV) All suffering, one way or another, is from Satan. Satan devours a person's life like a roaring lion. Satan is the source of all suffering. Suffering devours. Sin also devours and produces suffering. Sin eats us alive. Our defense against Satan is to stand firm. Our defense against evil is to resist evil. If we do not resist evil, then evil runs over us and destroys us. Satan is the enemy. All bad things come from Satan. Make no mistake about this. All bad things come from Satan. Human beings lived in paradise without death until Satan slithered in. After Satan slithered in and tempted Eve, Eve tempted Adam, and from then on we have all died. Satan is our mortal enemy. However, we have hope in Christ Jesus. We have in Christ a person who will save us. We have in Christ a savior. Instead of living life as if there is no hope because we are eternally doomed, we can all live life as if life is just beginning�because compared to eternity, our little life in eternity has only just begun. |
