A Daily Devotional This Devotional Is From A Special Series Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About believing other people can't or don't love you.. Acts 26:16 Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen of me and what I will show you. (NIV) We live in a world that can be cruel. We live in a world that can be unloving and unkind. Others can turn us off, they can turn their backs on us, they can scorn us, and they can even hate us. In our weakness, when we interact with people who are unloving, we can often make them more unloving by how we treat them. When others do not treat us with love and kindness, what we must remember is how much Christ loves us. We must remember how much Christ loves them. Christ loves us in healthy ways. Christ wants us to be strong so we love others before we even begin to think about them loving us in return. In Christ, because He empowers us and because we are His servants, the whole world can be against us, yet we can be strong enough to be His witnesses to the world. The essential issue of your life isn't whether other people can't or don't love youthe issue is whether you love others regardless of who or what they are. You must not live in weakness in your relationships. You must live in Christ's strength. |
