A Daily Devotional About Christ as a being of
peace in life: Luke 24:36 While they were
still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them,
"Peace be with you." (NIV) In all the raging wars in the past and those yet to be fought in the future, there is a supreme being who can bring peace to every heart on earth. There is within you, this very second, a supreme being within your heart who can bring you an end to your every conflict. Imagine just for a moment you are sitting at a bus stop on a noisy street. Imagine there are throngs of people around you. There are screaming children, booming radios, honking horns, police sirens, and there is dust and dirt flying all about from the traffic. Also imagine while you are in this noisy and chaotic place Jesus sits down next to you. In an instant He turns off the noise, He turns off the traffic, He turns off the sirens, and He turns off all the confusion. Within you and with Christ, you need not just imagine. With Christ within you, you find in an instant He really does turn off all the turmoil and chaos. Finding His peace requires we invest all we have and all we are in Him. When you give Him all of your life, He brings to you a quiet spirit and a calm feeling not found in any other way. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for bringing us your peace. |
