(NIV) On the day of Christ's birth, the sinister dark power of the earth (the evil one) was plotting to kill Jesus. The sinister dark power eventually succeeded in taking away Jesus' life�but not for long. The sinister dark power could only hold Jesus in the tomb for three days�then the power of death had no power over Jesus' life. Jesus was born to set us free from the dark power of death. In all our Christmas celebrations, we must not forget the greatest gift we could ever be given or receive is eternal life. Before Christ was born, we had no hope. Now we have His hope eternal. Before Christ was born we lived in darkness. Now we live in the light of His love and grace. Of all the gifts you could ever give to another person, the greatest gift you could ever give another soul is the gift of Christ's saving grace. |
