A Christmas Daily Devotional About how Christmas perseveres: Matthew 2: 12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. (KJV) In spite of many attempts over many centuries to quash Christianity, our Lord has made our faith strong enough to survive. Christmas in our present day is under assault from many quarters. Commercialization, secularization, and apathy toward the faith makes Christmas appear to be in danger of being made just another day. However, the day of Christ's birth has a power. The power of Christ's birth is the power of His love poured out upon the world. Christmas will endure because Christ will endure. Christ will keep you and those who follow after you in the palm of His hand. Christ will not forsake us. Because He will not forsake us, we will not forget the day of His birth. In response to Christ never forsaking us or leaving us, we must never turn away from honoring both the day of His birth and the day of His resurrection. The power of love we call Christmas cannot be stopped. The power of Christ's love we call Christmas melts the heart and causes even the greedy to be giving, kind, and compassionate. |
