About receiving Christ's love:

Luke 11:13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" (NIV)

Of all the gifts you have ever received or ever given, the spirit of love from our living God is the greatest gift of all. In God's divine irony the more giving we are, the more giving He is toward us. The more open our heart is to His love in our life, the more we are able to receive His love. The more we open up to His spirit of love and grace, the more of His love and grace He pours over us. When the Holy Spirit falls upon us we understand neither poverty nor wealth make any difference to Him. As the Holy Spirit full of His love falls over us we are able to seek His love. When we seek Him we find He provides us more than we could ever imagine. In ways we do not always understand, Christ's spirit of love empowers us to be so immersed in Him, we share His love and grace with others without our ever realizing we are sharing.

Receive His Holy Spirit of love as if His love was a gift from Heaven, because indeed, He and His spirit really are a gift from heaven.
