A Christmas Daily Devotional About returning to Christ's
manger 2
Chronicles 30:8. Come to the sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve
the LORD your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you. 9 If you
return to the LORD, then your brothers and your children will be shown
compassion by their captors and will come back to this land, for the LORD your
God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you
return to him." (NIV) The Christmas season is full of distractions. Not only is the glitter of Christmas a distraction, so are the many activities associated with Christ's birthday. In tough economic times, we can easily lose sight of why we celebrate Christmas. Our worry, doubt, and fear of the way things are in our life can overshadow the love Christ pours over us as we visit Him as a small babe in the straw. This Christmas and every day throughout the year, spend a few moments next to Christ in the manger. All the distractions, all the fear, worry, doubt, and all the soul-eating influences of our modern life, fall away as you gaze upon the splendor and majesty of His manger. Jesus understands how things are with you. Jesus knows about how you have to struggle. However, our Lord does more than just understand and know. Jesus reaches out to you to touch your heart and soul. |
