A Christmas Daily Devotional About when you feel alone and lonely at Christmas: Christmas can be a time of intense feelings of loneliness and feelings of isolation. Warm memories of the way things used to be can invade our present mind and heart at a time when we face hurt, pain, and difficulties in the here and now. When we have a difficult Christmas or Christmas season, we do have someone this very moment who listens to the very innermost part of our heart where loneliness resides. Your "someone" is God, Christ His Son, and the Holy Spirit all around you and within you. No matter what you want to say or how you want to say it, Jesus is listening. When you talk to Him, you can babble on in selfishness, but He would prefer you talk about the loneliness in your heart. When you talk to God this Christmas season, no matter whether you are lonely or not, you can say what is really in your soul. When you talk to God this Christmas season, keep your ears and heart tuned to Him because the minute you start to speak, He will speak back to you. The minute you start to speak, He will speak and make you laugh, comfort you when you cry, give you wisdom, and most of all, give you love showing you how you have never ever been alone. |
