A Christmas Devotional About Christ's gift of forgiving love Matthew 2: 11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. Christ did not have to forgive us. He could have turned His back on us. He could have taken out revenge against us. He could have destroyed the earth and us with it. He could have dealt with us in ways that would have tormented us for eternity. However, He did not do any of these things. Christ came into the world bringing gifts. One of His greatest gifts for us was His forgiving love. He forgave us for crucifying Him. He continues to forgive us of our transgressions. We serve a giving God. We serve a giving Savior. Christ did not come into the world to steal from us or take from us. Christ came into the world to give to us. In this very moment of your life, Christ continues to pour His forgiving love over you. When you open your heart and soul, He is loving and kind and will bestow upon you His love and grace. When you are lost in your darkness He comes to you and calls you to turn to Him to receive His gift of answers, help, support, and forgiving love. |
