A Christmas Devotional About pretending to be good: Matthew 2:4 When he had called together all the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born. Each of us must strive with all our might and all our soul to do good deeds and be good persons. Each of us must strive to do good deeds and be good persons because doing good and being good is the only way we can defeat evil. To defeat evil, we cannot pretend to be a good person. Pretending to be a good person will not defeat evil because pretending to be good is evil in disguise. Good and evil collide in our real world. In addition, good and evil collide in our spiritual world. Christ is the ultimate good. Christ came to earth to bring us His ultimate good. In order to fulfill our respective destinies for Christ, each of us must do everything possible to further Christ's ultimate good in our lives. At Christmastime, we often come closer to fulfilling Christ's destiny for our lives because we engage in giving love in the form of gifts and thoughtfulness to others. However, we must not limit the giving of love to just the Christmas season. We must actively give love every day of the year. When we give love every day of the year, we defeat evil and bring victory for Christ. |
