(NIV) Many people make out a list of what they want for Christmas. Children are often encouraged to make out a Christmas list. So what would you like this year? In making out your Christmas list, remember to put on your list the kind of things that never break, never wear out, and always fit perfectly. Be sure to put on your list the kind of things lasting forever. But wait! Nothing lasts forever. Well, we have a problem. However, some things do last forever. The things lasting forever are not really things at all. What lasts forever is the love of Christ, the enveloping and surrounding love of Christ, if we have accepted Him, will someday take us up to Heaven to be with Him for eternity. At the top of your Christmas list should be eternal life in Heaven, your eternal life in Heaven guaranteed for you if you have accepted Christ as our Savior. Perhaps you could put on your list a closer walk with Christ each day, a better way to witness to others, and a way to more fully surrender your all for Christ because He surrendered His all for you. |
