A Daily Devotional This
Devotional Is Related To Dependency And
Co-dependency Issues. About feeling terribly threatened by the loss of persons or things you think make you happy… John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (NIV) In ways we do not always perceive, we can make ourselves a slave to persons or things. Once we are enslaved, we can become threatened with the loss of the persons or things enslaving us. In most respects, the idea of making ourselves or letting ourselves become enslaved to persons or things violates common sense. Yet, enslaved we become. We become enslaved or permit ourselves to become enslaved because of an inherent weakness within us. This weakness within us makes us think persons or things can make us happy. The true fulfilling power within our life is Christ. Christ does not make us a slave to a person or thing and He does not want us to make ourselves enslaved to persons or things. When we face a loss, we can stand in full assurance Christ is our ultimate gain. With Christ, we can never lose. With Christ, we can gain forever and ever. |
