A Daily Devotional This Devotional Is Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About feeling the need to continually check up on people… Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (NIV) In our dealings with others, we must learn to trust them. Too often, if we do not trust others, then we feel a need to continually check up on them because of our lack of trust. When we feel the need to continually check up on people we end up making them feel insecure because we send big messages to them about how we do not trust them. Continually checking up on people makes others feel defensive and inadequate. We thus separate ourselves from them. Not feeling confident in the behavior of others erodes our relationships and puts others on the defensive with us. Checking up on people makes us an irritant to others thus destroying our relationship with them. Instead of continually checking up on people, check in with Christ and then put your full faith and trust in Him to do His splendid will in all matters. |
