A Daily Devotional Look and see His fields ready for the
harvest… John 4:35 Do you not say, `Four months
more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields!
They are ripe for harvest. (NIV) We are alarmed by crime. We are shocked by criminal violence. We shake our heads at the numbers of homeless and the hungry. However, there are more. There are more tragedies of the heart and soul than any of us can imagine. The numbers of people needing help and consolation is in the millions minimum in the United States. People are starving for food to feed their soul. If you look further you see the hunger. They may run away from hearing about Christ on television or about Christ from the street evangelist. However, their soul is still empty and they are starving. They may never go to church but their soul yearns to drink His living water. They may scorn and scoff at the idea of God, but the pain of His absence consumes their soul. The soul hungry multitudes may care less about profanity, abortion, and what we call sin, but they have souls aching for the touch of Christ's love. The soul hungry are all around you. They are everywhere. They are hungry to hear the truth told by kind hearts. They are starving to see Christ in action. Their hearts bleed to know Christ loves them. |
