A Daily Devotional About finding Christ when you
think you have lost Him… Ephesians
2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near
through the blood of Christ. (NIV) This devotional title illustrates how we sometimes think. We cannot actually lose Christ. However, when we lose contact with Christ, the result of losing contact with Him has the same effect as losing Him. We cannot regain Christ because we do not lose Him, although we may think we have lost Him. When we find Christ after we think we have lost Him we regain our relationship with Him. We "regain" our relationship with Christ by coming back to Him after we have gone astray from Him in our misguided attempts to live our life. What we lose is our connection to God. Although there are perhaps hundreds of reasons why we lose our connection to God, regaining our connection with God requires revisiting our helplessness, our hopelessness, and our utter sinfulness. When we confront our helplessness, hopelessness, and sinfulness we have a place to go where our life can be restored. Our life-giving place to find Christ is always the foot of His cross. |
