A Daily Devotional About
finding God’s power and majesty… Matthew 22:35 One of
them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 "Teacher,
which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: "
'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all
your mind.' (NIV) God is everywhere. God is in all places at all times. Although God is everywhere, too often our heart is not aligned with God and our heart is not with God. Our sin separates us from God, even when God is where we are. In seeking to find God’s power and majesty more fully, we must turn our heart away from the world and toward Him. We must turn our heart away from the sin plague covering and separating us from God’s power and majesty. God is willing to touch your life with His power and majesty if you are willing to be touched by Him. Seeking His personal touch of power and majesty is the most important quest of your life. Receiving His personal touch of power and majesty through repentance and His salvation is the pinnacle of any person’s life. We spend too much time and energy doing what we know in our heart we should not do. We even seek God in selfish ways. We look for God outside of ourselves rather than inside of ourselves. However, our ability to find God in all His power and majesty depends in large measure upon how much we love Him and how grateful we are for His saving us and giving us eternal life. In finding God’s power and majesty, our seeking behavior can be feeble. However, no matter how feeble our behavior might be in seeking Him, God loves us beyond our ability to grasp. When we are humbled in the sight of God’s power and majesty, His power and majesty blesses us by His overpowering presence of love in every part of our life. |
