About following the rules…
Deuteronomy 5:9 …for I, the LORD your
God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the
third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 10 but showing love to a
thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments. (NIV)
Within God's laws,
commandments, rules, and truth we can find a pathway to security, peace, inner calm,
and love. God has formed His universe and our reality in ways we can understand.
However, we must be willing to understand and live by His laws. Within God's
laws, we can work, live, laugh, and love. Within God's laws, we can live in
complete assurance we are doing His will. When we follow God's rules for living,
even when we are attacked by the darkness, we can stand on solid and holy
ground. When we commit our life to living in godly and devout ways, we can find
security in knowing the ultimate outcome of our life is a glory-filled eternity.
Evil tries to pull us away from the heart of God. When we follow the laws of
God, we will not fail God and God will not fail us. God's laws always work.
God's laws bring us happiness, joy, and peace.
