About God being bigger than your pain:

Isaiah 51:11 The ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. 12 "I, even I, am he who comforts you. (NIV)

Most people experience pain. When we experience pain, the pain often drives out our capacity to experience the presence of God. However, God will not tolerate our being separated from Him. Even when your pain takes you away from God, God is still working to establish a connection with your heart and mind. Even when you hurt and you think or feel God is dead, God is still very much alive. When you hurt, you may think there is nothing bigger than your hurt, but you are wrong. Because when you think there is nothing bigger than your hurt, you are being deceived by the great deceiver. When you think there is nothing bigger than your hurt, you are being deceived because God is above your every hurt. God is below your every hurt. God is all around your every hurt. When your hurt isolates you and makes you think you are lost, God is right next to you. When your hurt discourages you, God is just above you pouring out His love and hope over you. When your hurt cuts you off and makes you lonely, God is within you in His fullness and in His love.
