A Daily Devotional About godly dreams… Isaiah 29:7 Then the hordes of all the nations that fight against Ariel, that attack her and her fortress and besiege her, will be as it is with a dream, with a vision in the night-- 8 as when a hungry man dreams that he is eating, but he awakens, and his hunger remains; as when a thirsty man dreams that he is drinking, but he awakens faint, with his thirst unquenched. So will it be with the hordes of all the nations that fight against Mount Zion. (NIV) We have dreams. We have hopes. When you have hopes and dreams, then dream of doing God's will in your life rather than doing your own will. When you dream of doing great things let the great things be done for Christ. When you dream dreams about doing great things to bring glory to yourself, you bring trouble and woe to your soul. We all instinctively know this truth about bringing trouble to ourselves. Yet, we still get caught up in wanting the grandeur of the world. When your selfish dreams end up with your own misery, turn to God. With His love, you can turn your life over in selfless devotion before Him. When you are defeated by the world because you tried to do a worldly thing, you can find ultimate victory by doing the will of God. When you dream of doing your will and these dreams are broken by the world, come to Christ hanging upon the Cross. In Christ you will find His dreams for you…dreams never to be broken. |
