Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. (NIV)

You have a mind you can direct. You have a mind you can control. You have a mind you can use to think freely about any number of things. Everywhere you go and in everything you do, you can have a mind directed and led by Christ. Of course, having a mind in Christ is not easy. The dark powers of the world want you to only think the darkest and most sinful of thoughts. So to do what you know God wants you to do and to be who Christ wants you to be, you must take on the mental challenge of thinking of Christ first, last, and only. When sinful thoughts challenge you, think first, last, and only about Christ…do so because Christ always stands beside you and gives you strength. When you are beaten to death by temptation over which  you seem to have no control, think first, last, and only about the terrible flogging Christ received as a result of your sin. When you think you cannot stand up under the terrible burdens of your life, think first, last, and only about the terrible burden Christ had to bear as He carried His own cross to Calvary so you could have eternal life. Most of all, no matter how difficult life seems, in the really tough times, think first, last, and only of Christ your Lord who is always with you.
