About having lived through uncontrollable circumstances causing you sorrow and disappointment… Matthew 9:35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. (NIV) Living through trauma and uncontrollable circumstances can scar us for life. However, we serve the Great Physician. Under Christ's healing hand, we can know our sorrows and disappointments can be erased in His love. God's will for your heart and soul is not for you to live under a dark cloud from the past. Christ wants you living a life of freedom from any darkness, no matter where, when, or how the darkness occurred. To live in His freedom, we must do our part and learn to see our life in a more objective fashion. Likewise, we must learn to see our pain and disappointment as temporary. Our life must be seen as temporary because we have hope in the here and now. We have hope because we know there is for us a hereafter. Our hope, even our certainty, rests in the hope our next few hours, days, weeks, and years will be times of refreshing. We also know our healing love of Christ cannot be stopped or hindered. We must commit our days to not living in the hurt of the past. We must commit our days to living in the healing way Christ would want us to live in the here and now. |
