A Daily Devotional
About how love demands maturity: Ephesians 4:12 ..so that the body of
Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the
knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of
the fullness of Christ. (NIV)) Love demands we be mature
people. Love demands we all grow up, become responsible, and self-controlled.
Love or God makes these demands for we cannot be fully Christ-like if we keep
our childish ways. To attain the full measure of Christ's blessings and to fully
bear the cross we are given, we must be mature men and women. The Lord is not
blessed by the whining of the immature person demanding to have his or her own
way. The Lord is blessed by the mature
person who carries the burdens of life with joy, even as the burden weighs
heavy on the person carrying it. The ultimate mark of maturity for a person who
is carrying the burden of Christ is when the person looks up into the heavens
and praises God for His blessings bestowed. The ultimate form of maturity is to
count every burden as a joyful opportunity to serve our Lord. |
