About humility..

Matthew 18: 1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" 2 He called a little child and had him stand among them. 3 And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

We all want control and power. Few people would accept the idea self-control and personal power could be found in humility. However, true humility is the result of taking control of your life, your ego, your wants, and your needs. If you are truly humble you submit these attributes to our Savior’s call and influence upon your life. When you have true humility, humility means your heart is Christ-controlled. When you have true humility, you do not pretend to be someone you are not. You have the freedom to always be just yourself, the person God made and dearly loves. Humility produces within you a quietness and peace because you are not striving to be someone you are not. To be humble means you are Christ-controlled enough to render yourself harmless and defenseless like a child in the face of pain, adversity, suffering, and attack. To be humble means you do not take any kind of offensive action against anyone. Humility requires you recognize you have fallen short of God’s call upon your life to change. Humility requires you recognize your sin, and once your sin is recognized you fall on your knees before Christ on the Cross - where He died and where you can find new life. Humility is the way you can find Christ’ power for living..a power opening the door to the Kingdom of Heaven.
