A Daily Devotional About keeping His word: Luke
We must grasp what God has told us with all the force and power we have at our disposal. If you let go of His word or truth you can't really do His word. Certainly you can say or think His words, but just saying or thinking His words doesn't cut it, for you must also do His words by fully living out His truth and love. To keep His word alive in our heart, we need to preserve the word of God within our heart. We must put His word in our heart and seal our heart up. We must hold His truth within us and regard His truth to be so precious we would always make sure His word never gets spoiled, contaminated, or decayed. We must love His word so much we would always make sure influences from the sinful world never come in to spoil God's truth in our heart. We must always guard against powers and forces casting doubt on His word, the same powers contaminating His Word's purity. We must always maintain our faith and strength of belief so the power of His truth is not decayed or weakened. In our heart we must continually strive to maintain a special place where only His truth lives. In our heart we must make a special effort to never let the evil of the world filter into our soul. Within the depth of our heart and soul we must store His word away by prayer and meditation each day. We must activate His word by letting His light of love shine for all those in the world, especially those who do not know about His truth. When the dark powers of the world come against us, we must hang on and keep hanging on to His truth in faith. We must never let go and never relent in our belief in what He has told us. |
