A Daily Devotional About living peace: Psalm 37:37 Consider the blameless,
observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace. 38 But all sinners
will be destroyed; the future of the wicked will be cut off. (NIV) Living peace has a major
benefit. We enjoy the major benefit of living peace when the peace we live
overtakes us. We then become peaceful or full of peace. We live peace by
shunning war. We live peace by shunning arguments and verbal battles with
others. We live peace by trying to make peace with our enemies. We live peace by
continually trying to make peace even when we perceive our enemies wish to
destroy us. We live peace by giving peace a chance, even when we know we must
defend those who cannot defend themselves against aggressors who want to kill,
maim, and destroy. When we live peace, we must rise above the purveyors of hate
by trying to get the purveyors to tame their hatred. We live peace by trying to
avoid war even when we must prepare for war. We must live peace by worshipping
the prince of peace who died by acts of violence and hatred. We must live peace
by being peaceful in our contemplation of our life, being peaceful in our
wishes, and being peaceful in our conduct toward others. |
