A Daily Devotional This Devotional Is Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About losing sleep over other people's behavior… Luke 12:22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. (NIV) With the exception of parenting a child, you are not responsible for anyone's behavior except your own. You can worry and lose sleep over others people's behavior. Wrongly, many people think if they worry and lose sleep over other's behavior, there is something godly or admirable about worrying over someone else. God wants us to care. Most importantly, God wants us to care in strength and power. When we have concerns and worries over the behavior of others, we are to take our concerns to Christ. We are to place our worries and concerns for others in the hands of Christ so He will do His work and will in the life of those we pray for each day. Your life is better when you place the life of those you care about in the hands of Christ than to lose sleep and grow anxious, sick, and tired over other's behavior. No doubt, these words are easier to read and to say than they are to practice. What all of us must do is keep our focus on being a witness for others rather than making ourselves weak over their behavior. |
