About loving righteousness and hating evil…

Hebrews 1:9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy." (NIV)

Some people love righteousness and they love being righteous. Conversely, some people love evil and they love being unrighteous and doing sinful things. The consequence of loving righteousness and doing righteous works is an anointing by God. When God anoints us for being righteous, we experience joy, peace, and an outpouring of His love and grace. Even when we do the righteous works at great personal cost, God still pours His anointing blessings over us. When we grow strong in the Lord, we are able to look at what evil is, what evil does to us, and what evil does to others. When we see evil, we see how evil hurts, maims, and destroys all those evil touches. To preserve our heart, mind, and soul, we must have a total disdain for evil and a mighty love for righteousness. In addition, we must be willing to stand up to evil and shine the light of Christ's love on evil so evil will be no more. To enjoy life, live a life of goodness and righteousness. To get the most out of your life, only do what is right in the eyes of God.
