A Daily Devotional About a mighty mission: Matthew 5:13 "You are
the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made
salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and
trampled by men. 14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill
cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.
Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good
deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (NIV) As long as you have breath and your heart is beating, you have life. As long as you have life you have a mighty mission and purpose in life. In the realms of God, there is no such event as retirement. To God, every second you are alive is an opportunity to do His work and show His mighty power of love. Although you might think you are dead, you are still alive. Every beat of your heart should be a reminder to do the work God has for you to do. As long as you are alive, God has plans, purposes, jobs, missions, and projects needing your sweat, muscle, and prayer to get done. Although you may temporarily lose your direction in life, God has a compass leading and guiding you to your next mission for Him. The beating of your heart is a tiny signal for you to always remember there is still one more second of God's work left to do. After His one second of work is accomplished, there is yet another one second of His work, then another, then another. |
