About a new birth into a living hope…
1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth
into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and
into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for
you, (NIV)
Wouldn't it be great to get
rid of the same old, same old problems, trials, and difficulties? Wouldn't it be great to get a new life? The great
news of the new millennium, as has been the great news of previous
millenniums, is you can have a new life. You can have new goals and a new
life where all things are made new. You may drive the same old car but with a
new life within you, the car may be old but you can be new. You may work at the
same old job, or go to the same old school, or do the same old thing every day.
However, when you become a new person inside your old body, everything turns
new. Accepting Christ produces a new world within you because you see the world
with new eyes. Your brain sees the same old things but your spirit is new. When
your spirit is new your life is full of a living hope.
