A Daily Devotional About not receiving the times and dates… Acts1:7 He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (NIV) There are times and dates we think we need to know. However, maybe God did not reveal to Jesus the "the times and dates" about future events. Perhaps He does not give out "times and dates" because we might abuse the privilege of His telling us what will happen in the future. Unfortunately, we might abuse the privilege of knowing specific dates of Jesus’ return because many people would look at the remaining time as a time to eat, drink, and be merry (or not believe at all). In each of our hearts, there should be a spirit of thanksgiving because God loves us and will send His Son back to us again. God is good. God has held back the time of Christ’s reappearance for our good, not to confuse us. |
