A Daily Devotional About our super supernatural God: Philippians 4:12 Now I want you to know,
brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.
13 As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to
everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. 14 Because of my chains, most of
the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more
courageously and fearlessly. (NIV) Persecution of those who love and accept Christ is not new. Miracles come about while singing in the chains of persecution. Our faith and our gospel record show us Christ is, at this moment, doing supernatural work in supernatural ways. We cannot conceive of most supernatural things, but we can be a part of the supernatural. At moments in our life when we firmly and absolutely believe there is no way out of a circumstance, God brings a way. When our life crumbles and we think all is lost, we suddenly realize all is not lost. We also realize, somehow, someway, by a means we cannot see or understand, we have won the victory. In our earthly environment, steel is hard and cannot be penetrated without great force. However, to God, steel is as thin and wispy as our air. We must all come to understand we serve a supernatural Christ. We aptly use the word supernatural because what God does is super in our natural world. When we look at our life and think there is no earthly hope, we may be right from our limited earthly perspective. However, we must remember there is heavenly, supernatural perspective and in Christ there is eternal hope. The Lord has a supernatural supply of everlasting life. His hope often defies our imagination. |
