A Daily Devotional About the outpouring of God's mercy… Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with
Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order
that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace,
expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have
been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--
9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us
to do. (NIV) God is merciful in His
wondrous ways. In His wonder, Christ loves us even we sin and fall short of His
will for us. Even when we commit sins and rebel against Him, God still loves us.
God puts up with us even when we make the same mistakes over and over! Even when
we know we are doing wrong, He still loves us. We do not deserve to be loved by
God as much as we are loved. We have terrible ways of living with each other. We
kill each other. We show utter hatred for one another. In spite of whom we are
and what we do, we are still loved by God. This day of our Lord, as so many
parts of the world erupt in war and violence, we need God's mercy now more than
ever. God's love and mercy are infinite. Yet, even when we fail Him, He will
never fail us. Even when we do not deserve to be near Him, Christ wraps His arms
around us. When we have fallen and we are broken, Christ comes and heals us as He
invites us to break bread with Him. Thank you, Lord Jesus. |
