A Daily Devotional About a perfect life… 2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. (NIV) A perfect life does not exist. We might see a perfect life portrayed in the movies or on television, but a perfect life is not attainable. What looks perfect from the outside is always imperfect if the inside can be seen. Some people try to achieve a perfect life. They try to attain the perfect job, the perfect mate, the perfect car, the perfect house, and they try very hard to raise perfect children. Sooner or later we all learn a perfect life is impossible to achieve. Sooner or later we see our quest for perfection as folly. However, there is a way to achieve a semblance of perfection in life. Our achievement of perfection comes through Christ. When we have Christ in our life, a part of us is perfect. Perfection through Christ appears in our life because Christ does not just seem to be perfect…He is perfect. Our quest for perfection comes to a halt when we understand we cannot achieve perfection because of the sin in our life. However, our quest for perfection becomes more possible than ever when we invite Christ into our heart and life. |
