A Daily Devotional About the power of life… Ephesians 1:18 .I pray also
that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the
hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the
saints, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is
like the working of his mighty strength, 20 which he exerted in Christ when he
raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly
realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title
that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. (NIV) The power of your life comes from your hope for your future. The power of your life comes from your hope for your future given to you by Christ. Every goal, every task, and every purpose you have in life needs power to be achieved. When your goals, tasks, and purposes are not fueled by a power within you, then these goals, tasks, and purposes are not achieved. Our span of time upon this earth is less than a blip upon the radar screen of eternity. So brief is our time compared to the beginning and ending of all things, one might think living is hardly worth it. However, one minute in your life filled with the glory, power, hope, and love of God touches the eternal. One minute in your life filled with the glory, power, and love of God becomes infinite. You may be grounded upon the earth by gravity, but your soul and spirit are capable of reaching the highest heaven at any moment. When you look up to God, when you look up to Christ waiting for you on the other shore, His goals, His purposes, and His tasks in your life become the substance of your life. When you look up to Christ, His hope for you and His promise for you give you the power to overcome every moment. |
