A Daily Devotional About practice and preparation… Ezekiel 33:30 "As for you, son of man, your countrymen are talking together about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses, saying to each other, `Come and hear the message that has come from the LORD.' 31 My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to listen to your words, but they do not put them into practice. (NIV) You cannot learn to play a musical instrument without practice. You cannot learn to type on a typewriter keyboard without practice. Nearly every human achievement requires practice. Practice generally takes place when you are alone. When you practice, you do not hear the roar of the crowd. When you practice there is little immediate reward. Few of the tasks of walking the Christian walk can be done without practice. Most of the tasks of the Christian walk require diligent effort and often painful practice. However, at the end of the Christian journey a most beautiful reward awaits. There awaits us a most beautiful applause from our Savior. There awaits us a Savior, our Savior, who welcomes us with open arms and an outpouring of His eternal love. |
