praying for protection against temptation… Luke Satan is continually bombarding us and striking at us with temptation. One of our greatest weapons against Satan’s attacks of temptation is to pray for God’s power and protection. God wants us to pray for safety and pray for no harm to be done to us. In our world, there are many forms and many sources of temptation. With riches comes temptation. With poverty comes temptation. There is temptation to use the power God has given us. There is temptation to use people around us for selfish reasons. There is the temptation to put your life and your needs first rather than putting the life and the needs of others first. Sin is like a pit…a most glamorous pit with attractions or temptations of every kind. When temptation works on us and we respond to the temptation, we get closer and closer and closer to the pit. Without praying for protection from temptation, we fall into the pit. Every second you are alive, Satan has your number. Satan is calling you. Satan knows just what to say to weaken you and attract you. However, every second you are alive, God is watching over you and waiting for you to call His name to ward off Satan’s tempting voice. God is always listening to hear you call for His power and protection. |
