A Daily Devotional About putting God before all
things of life… 1 John 2:15 Do not love the
world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the
Father is not in him. (NIV) When you
look at the world, in all its many manifestations, you can choose to only see
the tangible. When you look at the tangible world, you can try to forget about
God who is intangible. When you see the world, you can choose to love the
visible world and the things of the world. Or, you can choose to love our
invisible God. We always have a choice between loving the world we see and
loving our God who we cannot see. If we only love our tangible world we leave
God out of what we see. When we only love our tangible world we leave God out of
our life. When we leave God out of our life we live in a terrible inner
darkness. God is light. God sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world who became
the Light of the world. When we have Christ living within our heart, His love
lights up our life. A few of the things of earth may give us a momentary light.
However, in Christ, we have someone who gives us an eternal light. When we have
only our own ideas, our own thoughts, our own feelings, and our own physical
senses to live by, we have little. When we live by only our physical senses the
little we have quickly fades away. When we have the love of God within us we
have the universe and beyond. |
