A Daily Devotional About receiving life… Deuteronomy 9:9 When I went
up on the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant
that the LORD had made with you, I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty
nights; I ate no bread and drank no water. (NIV) At first thought, you do not need to receive life because you already have life. However, for millions of people, and perhaps for you, there can be times in life when life does not seem worth living. Truthfully, your life is diminished from the very moment of your birth. The moment you are born you begin to experience the pain of hunger and thirst. What could be a perfect life of no human want and no human need is a far off dream. On this earth, when we are alive, we have pain from unfilled wants and needs. The pain of unfilled wants and needs diminishes you and takes away much of the meaning, purpose, and joy of your life. However, all is not lost. In this life, you can have a new undiminished life. In this life, you can have a life undiminished by your human wants and needs. In this life, when you receive Christ and the love He has for you, you receive His power over your wants and needs taking you down. When you receive Christ, His love comes alive within you. With Christ alive within you, you are not resting in defeat but rejoicing in victory. When you receive Christ, you have received the way, the truth, and the life. |
