A Daily Devotional About receiving the Lord’s touch… Matthew
8:3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he
said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy. (NIV) God is alive and within each of us. Viewed from our worldly way of thinking, we do not understand how God, a being infinite in size and in power, can reside in the physical body of every human being on earth and live in Heaven at the same time. However, viewed from a supernatural perspective where size, time, and physical limitations do not exist, we know God is alive and real within our heart, mind, and soul as well as alive in Heaven above. God is within us and He is our personal God. God knows us, cares for us, loves us, guides us, encourages us, and rescues us on a personal level. As our personal God, our Lord touches our heart if we are willing to be touched by Him. To receive and experience the Lord’s touch and to be fully wrapped up in His embrace, He requires we surrender our life to Him. We cannot easily live our life in the physical realm and live our life in His supernatural realm at the same time. We must decide which side of the street we want to use to get from where we are to where we want to go. To be touched by God, we must turn our heart and mind over to Him without expecting God to provide anything back to us for doing the turning. To be touched by God, we must, on a continual basis, tell God we love Him. To be touched by God is possible only when we are humble and contrite, living in godliness, and turning all we have over to Him so He can work His will through us. |
