A Daily Devotional About respect for others… 1 Peter 2:17 Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king. (NIV) Respect should be given to other people. If you were in an auto accident just before you had to be at a once in a lifetime event… And the accident was clearly the fault of the other person…. And both you and the other driver got out of your cars alive and reasonably well… And you were really steamed… And the other driver was 6’10” and weighed 400 pounds… You might not let off some of your steam. Instead you might be respectful. Treating others with respect in our life is what we are called to do. People who don’t treat other people with respect generally have problems and create problems. All people deserve to be treated with respect. "All people" includes our children, senior citizens, the sick and disabled, the homeless, the poor, the downtrodden, even the people we do not like…everyone deserves to be treated with respect. |
