A Daily Devotional
About seeing everything is temporary… Matthew 24:1 Jesus left the temple and was
walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its
buildings. 2 "Do you see all these things?" he asked. "I tell you
the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown
down." (NIV) One of the great mysteries
of the Christian life is how we can experience peace and joy in the middle of
searing pain. Our experience and testimony about this mystery confirms we have
love and peace through Christ. We live in God's grace and love. We know without
doubt Christ loves us. We experience peace and joy because we live in His peace
and joy. No single moment of pain, or no single moments of pain strung together,
can overpower God. God brings us the peace and joy of our life in the middle of
our darkness. All things are temporary for us. All things are temporary on the
earth because one day all things will pass away. Although all things are
temporary, we know Christ is permanent. We know God the Father, Christ the Son,
and the Holy Spirit are eternal and they do not cease to exist, even in our
pain. We know Christ loves us and touches us even in our pain. We know Christ's
love and touch upon us will never cease no matter how much we hurt. |
