A Daily Devotional About seeing Jesus (Part 2 of 4)… Revelation 3:11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God;… (NIV) Seeing Christ in our
spirit is more difficult than seeing Him with our eyes. Seeing Christ
in spirit is more difficult because we have to do spiritual work to acquire our spiritual vision.
To see Christ in our spirit we must turn away from the sin plague of our life.
To see Christ in our spirit requires we first see our life as fallen into sin's
deadly grasp. After we come to grips with our sinfulness, we must then
understand Christ took our sin to the Cross with Him. Our Lord was crucified by
our very sin. In His death, Christ erased our sinfulness if we accept Him as the
person who can truly guarantee us eternal life. To see Christ, we must see Him
dying upon the cross for each of us. To see Christ, we must go through the
trauma of understanding we are the person who drove the nails into His hands. To
see Christ, we must let the sin in us be destroyed by His love. To see Christ,
we must be willing to give our very life up to Him as He is dieing for us. To see
Christ, we must undergo a total meltdown of our soul. To see Christ we must see
our soul is corrupted by our being born into this sea of sin and darkness we
call life. |
