A Daily Devotional About strength to prevail over
temptation… 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has
seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let
you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also
provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. (NIV) Temptation is an attack
by Satan. We defeat our temptations by expressing our love for Christ as we
submit our life to Him. Christ then gives us His supernatural power to counterattack
temptation. When your ego is cajoled into wanting more recognition for yourself,
the cajoling comes from Satan. Your counterattack strategy in your spiritual war
is to express your total love and devotion to Christ. In addition, you must also
express your willingness to surrender your whole life to Christ. The expression
of your love and devotion to Christ, along with your willingness to surrender
your life to Him, brings forth the power of Christ within you. Realizing
Christ's power within you gives you the ability to withstand satanic attacks.
When you selfishly build up yourself, feed your ego with selfishness, and refuse
to give up any part of yourself to Christ, then you are at Satan's mercy. Love
always outweighs the evil of temptation. Satan has no power over love. |
