A Daily Devotional About telling the truth about God:
Proverbs 12:19 Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment. (NIV)
Christians have their beliefs. Jews have their beliefs. Muslims have their beliefs. Native Americans have their beliefs. Among the many beliefs, there are similarities but also profound differences. In the middle of these profound differences, God is mostly a mystery.
In
our Christian faith, we know God is spirit.
We
know God is love.
We
know God is peace.
We
know God is the Creator of all of our existence.
We
know God is a being greater than all other beings.
We
know God connects to every person who has ever lived, but not every person
connects to God.
We
know human beings have an innate sense about God.
We
know God lives in another dimension in the spiritual realms, but His presence
can also be within us if we desire Him to be with us.
We
know when God is absent, darkness, hate, and evil prevail.
We
know in most places upon the earth, God is absent except in the hearts of a few.
We
know God is present only when human beings invite Him into their life.
We
know when human beings gather together they can invite God to be amongst them
and He will be with them.
We
know we are called to unconditionally love each person in Christ's name without
consideration for their beliefs. |
