A Daily Devotional This Devotional Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About thinking and talking too much about other people's problems… Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (NIV) To be thinking about others is good and godly behavior. To be totally pre-occupied or obsessed with others is not good and godly behavior. To be so pre-occupied with others you neglect yourself or neglect your life is not good. The problem with thinking and talking too much about other people causes the real issues of others to get ignored. God wants all of us to be caring and compassionate. Thinking and talking too much about others can drain us of our energy. Instead of being pre-occupied with others and their problems, we are supposed to be a helping hand. We are supposed to be reaching out to others to help them and inspire them. When we get obsessed with thinking and talking about other people's problems we begin to lose our grip on the force and power of God in us…the very force and power we use to help others. The force and power of our life should be directed to being a witness to the power of God's love. |
