A Daily Devotional About
touching the infinite… Psalm
119:96 To all perfection I see a limit; but your
commands are boundless. (NIV) There is infinite time. There is infinite space. There is infinite wisdom. There is infinite truth. There is infinite love. However, we are all human. As much as we try to imagine what might be infinite, we have no way of actually traveling for an infinite amount of time or traversing through an infinite about of space. We can be incredibly intelligent but never be able to comprehend infinite wisdom or infinite truth. We can have hearts of gold but never be able to fully know and grasp infinite love. However, we can touch the infinite even if we cannot possess what is infinite. We can begin to know the infinite even if we cannot absorb what is infinite. We can begin to experience a tiny inkling of the infinite. Most of all, we can touch the infinite. We can touch the infinite by touching God and we can touch God by touching Christ. We can touch the infinite by surrendering and letting go of our sin and letting go of our inner darkness. We can touch the infinite by giving our life away to Christ. We can touch the infinite by realizing all the love that ever was, all the love that ever will be, all the love that ever existed, and all the love that will ever exist rests in Christ. In Christ, we find someone who was willing to be tortured and crucified so we could be infinitely free. When you want to touch the infinite, then give up all you have and give up all you are to Christ. When you want to touch the infinite, understand He wants to touch you more than you could ever want to touch Him. |
