A Daily Devotional About a treasure of support from the Lord… Psalm 14:4 Will evildoers never learn--
those who devour my people as men eat bread and who do not call on the Lord? 5
There they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the
righteous. 6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the Lord is
their refuge. (NIV) Although we cannot see God,
He is with us nonetheless. Although we cannot hear His audible voice, He is
still speaking with us nonetheless. We may not realize what is going on around
us, all of us rest in
the palm of God's hand. When we go our own selfish way in life we leave God
outside. Selfishness leads us to walk away from the treasure of God's love,
care, kindness, and compassion. Although we may be unaware, God keeps our life
going each day. Even when we turn our back on God, He keeps our heart beating.
What a treasure we have in God. In God and in Christ we can have a heart filled
with hope and love. If we would look within our heart, we would see how much God
loves us and supports us. When the dark clouds of life roll in upon us we may
think we have nowhere to turn. We need not turn anywhere but toward our Lord who
lives in our heart. When we think all is lost, when we think we have nothing
left, when we look within our heart, we find Christ pouring His blessings over
us…so many blessings we cannot comprehend their number. |
