About trusting God…

Mark 4:40 He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" (NIV)

When trouble comes into your life, or when life runs smoothly, you are supposed to trust God. These are easy words to say but trusting God can be very difficult to do. Usually when we need to trust God the most, in the dark times of our life, in our pain, in our loneliness, in our fear and anxiety, God is invisible to our eyes, untouchable with our hands, and not reachable as other humans are reachable. Trusting God can bring disappointment when we trust Him to do for us and He does not see fit to do what we want Him to do. However, our trust in God must be based upon our unconditional love for Him instead of our needs we want Him to fill. Trust in God means giving all you are over to God. Trusting God means putting all you are into His hands. When you trust God fully and completely, whatever wants and needs you have no longer exist because all of who you are is resting in His arms.

To have a full, lasting, and mature faith in God there are two essential truths you must fully take to heart. First, God may never do what you want. Second, God may never be what you want Him to be. The reason God may never do or be what you want Him to do or be is because God wants you to trust Him so much you are always willing to fit His mold rather than wanting Him to fit your mold. However, when you trust God, even in the dark days, you will bask in His glory, peace, and love flowing down from Heaven.
