A Daily Devotional About
trusting others… Matthew
6:30 If that is how God clothes the
grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire,
will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? (NIV) Perhaps you started out not trusting people from the beginning. Perhaps you were hurt. Perhaps you were slighted. Perhaps you were maligned. Perhaps you have never been able to get over the early hurdles of trusting others. Trusting others can be hard to do. With others, not to trust them is not to love. With others, not to trust others is not to hope. With others, not to trust others results in your own emptiness. Others may not really know you or know what you have had to experience in life. Others may not see your difficulty in trusting them. Others may not realize how difficult things have been and how difficult things are for you. However, we must all come to realize trusting others is made fully possible only when we trust and have faith in God. When we have an abiding trust in God, our faith in God acts as a shield for us and our shield from God enables us to more fully love and trust others. When we have an abiding faith in God, we are not concerned about getting hurt by others. We are not concerned about self-image. We are not concerned about being accepted. We are not concerned about self in any respect. Trusting God first is vital so we can then trust others. Most assuredly, we have received and will always receive a greater reward in Christ than we could ever imagine receiving from others. |
